SUSAN LANDAU. After earning professional standing and widespread critical acclaim as a contemporary artist in the 1980s and 1990s, Susan Landau fell in love again. But this time, in place of stainless steel welding and Marcel Duchamp sculptures, she was courted by much softer, more delicate, and distinctly more sparkling subjects. For, one day, during an exhibit at Gumps, Landau met pearls and gemstones. It was love at first sight, and soon thereafter her heady relationship with jewelry design began in earnest.
