BritWeek Continues…

~Rockin the Royals~

Bunny’s Choice:
There are so many to select from, but,I will say Alexander McQueen was my favorite. Truly, a designer to the Royals and with a name so befitting of his patron’s lineage. Mc Queen couldn’t miss..however, ironically and tragically his presence is sorely missed!
Notorious for his impishness, for example: sewing curse words into the linings of the royal suiting and in contrast..named British Designer of the year, a jewel in the crown of any designer,he is most known for his signature exaggeration.Sharp squared off shoulders, nipped waists and pencil thin skirts.
R.I.P. Alexander

..sleep gently, my prince.

Tracy’s Choice:
A royal standout for me would be Stella McCartney. What I love about her sensibility is that she designs for a real woman- curvy, form-fitting dresses and suits that emphasize the feminine without the undue frills.  I love the fact that she eschews leather and fur and, in fact, we don’t miss either in her designs.  She is at the same time, adventurous and classic, feminine and tailored, cutting edge-yet practical.  What more can I say?
Me- in my Stella McCartney dress- What you can’t see is that the back is black with a peplum!

BritWeek Buzz with Style by Santina and Thrift Eye

Recently, we have had a lot to celebrate. First, our spring revamp, then winning the Bay Area A-List for Best Women’s Accessories, then BritWeek — with all of the fabulous and fashionable things on our plate, we wanted to share the treats with some like-minded bloggers! We invited local fashionistas Santina of Style by Santina and Eli of Thrift Eye over for some fiercely independent accessorizing and sips. We served champagne in honor of the Bay Area A-List — and served it in teacups for BritWeek — while enjoying handmade cookies at sunset. ‘Twas a party fit for San Francisco stylites, just as we like it!

Eli (left) loved the Tri-Color Ring and Santina (right) rocked the Hayley Kruger Ante Suede Pendants.

Santina scoping out the ultra-chic Lumete sunglasses.

How fun are these limited edition handbags? They are crafted from army hats and are only available in-store. Also, how cute are Santina and Eli?

The multicolor suede accents on this Erato Necklace by Hayley Kruger really made Eli’s bright lips pop, especially with our party-themed balloons in the background!

I in Design: BritWeek with Hayley Kruger

“My jewellery is bold, vibrant and striking.  And my pieces portray the essence of strong dynamic women who are not afraid
to make a statement.
In truth my jewellery is designed for my alter ego; the women that I imagined I would grow up to be. And so I take inspiration from strong female icons in history and popular culture such as Miriam Makeba, Barbarella, Joan of Arc and Cleopatra. It also goes without saying that having grown up in Southern Africa, a sense of that region, its colours and cultures are ever present in my designs.
All of these elements are amalgamated by the use of tactile and luscious suede that is the core material that runs through all of my collections. It adds luxuriousness to my work and the palette available works perfectly with my love of colour.
My pieces are for those moments when a woman needs to be remembered such as an important meeting, a sizzling date, a beach party in Ibiza or St Tropez, or for when she needs a “pick-me-up”, just like a pair of killer heels.
All of my work is currently designed and produced in the UK.
