I am always asking myself the question where do designers get their inspiration?
I’ve read articles that state, that it stems from nature or paintings or people on the street..or thrift and I started to realize that it’s not about any new trend necessarily..it’s about reinterpreting or better yet..re purposing things in a new and different way by boldly and fearlessly..mixing it up..in a word experimenting.
For example..I was with a close friend on Saturday and we were talking about how she takes two identical belts(skinny) and connects them to create a double wrapped belt.As soon as I got home I tried it and voila! sheer genius!
Maybe it’s simply a case of necessity being the mother of invention..in my case..I’m cheap.
